Project Description

As a landscape architect at Manning Architects, Patrick Michaels designed the outdoor spaces at the Xavier University Arts Village. The Arts Village serves as the anchor for the school’s southern campus expansion. The building renovation and new landscape serves as dynamic focal point for the John T. Scott Sculpture Garden. The sculpture, multi-purpose gardens and teaching enclave have become crowning jewels in the local community that celebrate the life and prolific gifting the iconic artist-educator and former MacArthur Foundation Fellow. Site elements include native grass plantings, pedestrian site lighting, corten steel retaining wall, rain gardens, and concrete paver promenade.
