Project Description

The Guste III Community Center is a proposed new construction building with extensive site improvements.  The client is the Housing Authority of New Orleans, and prime consultant is Manning Architects.  The site design creates several new places for community interaction, recreation, and play.  Site elements include a playground, basketball and tennis courts, a splashpad area, passive lawn space, discreet parking, and seating areas.  Extensive native tree plantings will provide shade in hot summer months, and stormwater management techniques will be implemented to drain impervious surface runnoff to planted areas to minimize the use of irrigation and increase groundwater recharge.
