Patrick Michaels formed Patch LA in 2014 to express his passion for contemporary and collaborative design in the landscape. His expertise builds the foundation of a practice that thrives on projects across scales of the built environment, and from public engagement to concept to intense detailing.

Patrick is a Principal at Patch LA. He is a Registered Landscape Architect in Louisiana, a Certified Project Management Professional, and a LEED Accredited Professional. Patrick holds a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University, and has completed extensive graduate course work in International Development from American University. Patrick has worked in design offices in Washington DC and New Orleans, and completed a Research Fellowship at the LSU Coastal Sustainability Studio, where he worked with a team developing the award winning Louisiana Resiliency Assistance Program, a program that works to integrate hazard resilience to communities in coastal Louisiana. Patrick has operated as the Public Engagement Lead for the Baton Rouge SSO Program since 2015, and brings a broad range of professional experience in construction communications, urban design, planning, and landscape architecture primarily across the sectors of heavy civil infrastructure, housing, transportation, and education.
Charlotte is a principal at Patch LA, a graduate of Louisiana State University with a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, and a licensed horticulturalist. A lifelong naturalist, Charlotte brings extensive knowledge of plant material and natural systems to her design work and has worked with influential and nationally known landscape designers throughout her career. Her work strives to tailor plantings and hardscape to the client’s needs as well as the larger natural and cultural context. Charlotte leads the residential design studio and detailed planting design firm wide. Charlotte is also a watercolor artist whose works reflect the beauty of the natural world.
